I hope everyone had a great holiday and a safe & healthy New Year!  Sorry I haven't been around much.  We were very busy over the holidays and I needed a vacation for the blog world.  :)

Happy 2012 everyone!!! 

I'm going to make 2012 my year to be "greener" and "healthier" and the way I'm going to do that is by using Shaklee products.

So after I bought my "Get Clean Starter Kit" from Shaklee, I wanted to start using the products to see what they could do.

I had been wanting to either clean this filter for my humidifier or replace it.  Well since I'm not sure where to buy a replacement, I decided, "let me see what Shaklee can do for this".  Here you can see how dirty the filter was.  Basically it was from not taking the filter out very often and cleaning it and letting it air out.  So most of the time it was just sitting in water.  So I guess it was hard water staining.

So I pulled out my Basic H2 Organic Super Cleaning Concentrate.  I only used 1 tsp. in my bucket of water.  I let it soak about 1 hour in this solution.

Then I added some of the Nature Bright Laundry Booster & Stain Remover to the Basic H2 solution that the filter was already soaking in.  I let the filter soak in the combined solution for 24 hours.  Then rinsed the filter well and let it dry.

And this is what it looked like 24 hours later.  Pretty clean all around and it didn't smell all musty anymore either.  So it took the stain and the smell out.

There is barely any kind of stain left behind.

I was so excited to see that my new Shaklee products worked and I didn't have to use any smelly chemicals to clean up this filter.  No VOC's in my filter, so no VOC's in my bedroom.  Win, win for me!  ;)
